Maximilian Wentz is a Boston-based singer-songwriter, music educator, and heavy metal artist and multi-Instrumentalist. He combines elements of rock, heavy rock and metal, and Latin music to deliver a collection of unique songs that capture the dramatic and extreme emotions. He has German (Frankfurt) roots on his father's side of the family, and Latin roots on his mother's side of the family. Leading his namesake band, Wentz delivers an electrifying live experience, merging aggressive riffs, soaring vocals, and thought-provoking lyrics that tackle themes of struggle, resilience, and the darker sides of the human condition. Max shares his love for music teaching young musicians, bands, and adults on guitar, voice, drums and songwriting.

Max is always planning his next release, and has seven singles, a four-song EP "Memories 1: The Storm" released in 2023, a ten-song album "Mare", released in 2023, a three-song EP release with heavy metal band 51st State. His debut metalcore EP, Memories 1: The Storm, drew critical acclaim from music press and blogs alike. Performers on the Go praised it as “a powerful and emotionally charged metalcore EP” that “engulf[s] the listener in a whirlwind of raw energy and unyielding aggression,” while also spotlighting his “impressive vocal range—seamlessly transitioning between soaring melodies and raw, gritty power.” The site further commended the EP’s production for “striking a perfect balance between clarity and heaviness, ensuring that each riff and drum fill hits with maximum impact.”

Max's original music has been reviewed in dozens of international publications, with repeated attention to his strong melodic and gutteral vocals. Maximilian Wentz takes listeners on an eye-opening expedition. With every song he releases, the multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter never ceases to surprise you. The duality of extreme and beauty, black and white, is so beautifully explored, blurred, and distorted in Mare. Wentz explores the drastic contrast of raw vulnerability and melodic truth under the umbrella of metal is something you simply won’t get elsewhere. Wentz has a gift of weaving, what in others’ eyes, contradicting and turbulent ideas into one consistent storytelling. And he does so so seamlessly and authentically. Mare is an inspired album through and through.~Punk Head Magazine

His growing catalogue of music earned him a 2024 New England Music Award nomination for "Top Hard Rock/Metal Band", and a 2021 nomination for the New England Music Awards for "Top New Act of the Year." The band also won a preliminary round in the 2025 New England Music Awards-Last Band Standing event and advanced to the finals. His next album is due to release in Q4 2025. Wentz’s original songs surpassed a new milestone with 700,000 streams on Spotify.

Wentz, a 2025 Berklee College of Music Master's Degree honors graduate, has performed in numerous venues across New England including the Worcester Palladium, Hard Rock Café, Faneuil Hall, Hampton Beach Seashell, Canobie Lake Park, The Middle East, Music Room of Cape Cod (opened for Scotty Austin/Saving Abel), and Food Trucks of America Festivals. He has also been featured on various radio stations such as Boston Free Radio, Boston Rock Radio, Rockin' the Berg Lunchbox series on Fitchburg's K-Zone 105.3 FM and 1280 AM WPKZ, Suffolk Free Radio, and Radio SNHU as a solo performer and with bands. Wentz has also performed with several other bands in the past including BunkerHill, Dragonfly, Blast of Silence, and Calumon.

In 2020, Wentz released 6-song solo EP of indie originals. The first single, “Soldier”, is a song Wentz wrote as a tribute to U.S veterans which he then decided to record after receiving praise from Michael Carabello of Santana for his performance at the Yankee Homecoming Battle of the Bands. The other five singles on the EP are, “Psychotic”, “Dethstar”, “Accept”, “Madman”, and "Sorry".

In late 2020, Wentz formed the hard rock duo, 51st State with bassist/keyboardist Conor MacGinnis ("Big Mac"). With Wentz on vocals, guitar, and drums and MacGinnis on bass and keyboard. The band recorded a 3-song EP, which was released in July, 2021, and currently has 32,000 streams. Wentz’s acoustic single, “Sorry”, was released on September 25, 2020 and is believed to be one of the most emotional pieces he has ever written. Wentz is currently preparing to release a new 10-song metal/rock album in the coming in Q4 of 2025, which he produced, did the vocals on, and played all the instruments.

"The Sixth" was the first release with Maximilian performing multiple instruments that transition through many genres including indie, heavy rock and metal. The song which is inspired by the video game "Little Nightmares", is the first in a series of singles to be a part of the Mare album. When Max was a young teen his band was all in on heavy metal music production and live performances, so this song shows all the sides to Max's talent and broad music scope. The song continuously surprises with the song's dramatic instrumental, vocal layering and tempo transitions. Max shows his melodic side at the start of the song with tastefully spaced acoustic and ambient sections, and quickly transitions to eclectic guitar solos, heavy riffs and unexpected episodes of angry ranting growls. The vocals are both quiet yet commanding, soft yet fierce. As the emotions ramp up, the head bobbing tempo makes you feel the entrapment and battle to escape. It carries on like a cosmic avalanche keeping listeners committed to see a return to home and a familiar space. The lyrics brilliantly capture the struggle within and monsters in view.

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Maximilian Wentz's vibrant deep-rooted originality, clever storylines, and creativity crosses through many genres making strides in his own direction. Combining all his music passions together he covers chill vibe acoustic to heavy metal originals, that capture his broad spectrum of talents. His ever-evolving mix of music keeps surprising, and he exists in a space of constant creation that reflects passion, life's unexpected encounters, and hard driving emotions. The up-and-down roller coaster style of his music is engaging, intriguing and obscure with a twist and turn style that is purely Maximilian Wentz.-Performers on the Go, LLC
