Maximilian Wentz released his debut heavy metal/heavy rock 10-track album, MARE, on January 27, 2023. MARE is inspired by the horror and suspenseful adventure video game series Little Nightmares (mostly focused on the second game in the series Little Nightmare II), as well as from the artist's own life experiences and perspectives. Mare's songs cover many emotional challenges including abuse, depression, rebellion, anger, selflessness, compassion, betrayal and vengeance. The song lyrics often speak of the darkness of the human soul, the struggle to overcome them, and the state of the world.

“Sorry” is a emotionally expressive song that is about Max's grandmother who suffered from dementia for many years. The song really revolves around the feeling of losing someone you love, even if they are still alive. Max hopes people who listen to his song cherish the time they have with those around them and let them know they are loved. Max’s newly released music video for “Sorry” currently has over 37,000 YouTube views and 117,000 Spotify streams.
